Reiki

Reiki is a form of natural healing. Dr Mikao Usui (d 1926), a Japanese healer and spiritual practitioner, first introduced the world to Reiki in the late 1800s. It involves the recipient either laying or sitting down, and relaxing. The healer will then begin laying their hands in a specific sequence on different parts of the recipient’s body. However, Reiki is not dependent on physical touch - it can be done over distances; a practice known as distant / absent healing.

Reiki is very soothing and balancing, and is widely available. Access to the healing energies that Reiki channels can be gained through a process of attunement. These attunements can be given to students by individuals who themselves have attained a high level of affinity with Reiki energy – known as Reiki Masters.

The symbols contained within the book are part of the method involved in using Reiki energy. They have been used all around the world and have come down to us through the Reiki Linage.
